Multimedia Fair Use Guidelines
When using copyrighted music, video, graphics, or pictures, the Multimedia Fair Use Guidelines state that the opening billboard has to contain the following:
Certain materials are included under the Fair Use exemption of the U.S. Copyright Law and have been prepared according to the Multimedia Fair Use Guidelines and are resricted from further use.
If using music that we do not have written permission to use, the second billboard needs to contain:
1) Title of song; 2) Artist; 3)Copyright symbol and year, music company (copyright=option G)
If you do not have copyright year and music company, go to "cdnow.com."
If using video/graphics: use lower third CG "Courtesy __________" throughout the video, picture and/or graphic.
Limitations:
Music: 30 seconds or 10 percent of song whichever is less
Video: 3 minutes or 10 percent of video whichever is less
Graphics or pictures: 15 images or 10 percent of images whichever is less
Internet Acceptable Use Policy
It is a policy which states what uses of the Internet are considered acceptable and which are not acceptable.
